The Oriental, The Author's Lounge - A Cup of Tea!

The Oriental, Bangkok is located on the Chao Phrya River. One should have a lovely cup of tea at the Author's Lounge in the Oriental.

It was fascinating and a great privilege to be sitting on this very lounge having a cup of tea once enjoyed by many famous writers who stepped through the doors of the Oriental.

The lounge was decorated with delicate, white-washed rattan furniture with hand-painted upholstery with a touch of Thai flavors such as the Siamese umbrellas.

The high tea came with lovely tea sets and little cakes and scones. I wish I was wearing a nice dress to complement the settings.

Spa-ed Out in Bangkok!

Bangkok! A GREAT place to shop, party and get all the spa you want at a fraction of the price. Bangkok covers an area of more than 1,500 square kilometres, and it is home to approximately ten million people or more than 10% of the country's population. So one can imagine how hot and congested the roads are on the streets.

This is a great place to 'spa' out. We had done facials, foot and body massages and ate fabulous Thai food that was out of this world.

Of course, not forgetting to do the usual tourist sightseeing while we are in this rich culture country. We attempted to visit the National located on the opposite side to The Grand Palace- The National Museum reveals the history of Thailand and how people lived during the
different periods which we thought it would give us a view through the windows of the past. Guess what? It was closed when we got there... in the end, we walked around The Grand Palace to get the great feel of the Thai monarchy and admiring the majestic golden peaks beyond the high walls.

The next stop was the Jim Thompson Thai House.
Jim Thompson's actual name is James H.W. Thompson. He was the founder of the world renowned Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company. Jim was a former U.S. military intelligence officer who once worked for the Office of Strategic Services, and mysteriously disappeared while going for a walk on Easter Sunday, March 26, 1967 in the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia. There were many theories to his disappearance, some saying that he was captured by the communists but what happened to him still remains one of the greater unsolved mysteries of South-east Asia. His achievements till today has still won him much fame.
Even though he's disappeared, dead or alive, his home till today was still the 'city's most celebrated social center'. His home has entertained many of the rich and famous in his house.

Thompson designed his house that consists of a complex of six traditional Thai-style houses, teak structures that were purchased from several owners and brought to the present location from various parts of Thailand. Construction of the Thai house was completed in 1959.

Pole Tricks

I did my first pole dancing class. Oh my ... it was exhilarating.... I could twist, turn, tip top, swing, spin, chest out, flip my hair in the most sensual way and arch my back.... and my my.. am i having a GREAT ache on my back and arms right now!!!!!

It was fun while it lasts... now i need to put up with the pain and bruises on my arms and legs. This calls for some basic training to build up my personal strength... Pole dancing takes takes muscular endurance and coordination as well as sensuality. it was pretty hard to manage the physical aspect and still try to put up an act. It was really harder than i would have expected.

My instructor made the routine looked all easy as she gildes around the pole as if she's feathering the floor.

It's a GREAT sport to keep yourself fit... cause you'll be so motivate to have a firmer ass and look good dancing with the pole.. hahahaah!!!!! : )
